Storms with speeds of up to 60 km/h may occur in 10 regions

In 10 regions of the country, strong winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour may occur. Therefore, cautionary signals have been issued for the river ports in those areas.

The weather office has given this forecast on Tuesday (July 30).

Assistant Meteorologist Afroza Sultana has stated that from the south/southeast direction, gusty or stormy winds of 45-60 kilometers per hour, along with temporary rain or thunderstorms, may occur over the regions of Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Jessore, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. The maritime ports in these areas have been advised to display warning signal number one.

Another forecast indicates that the extended axis of the monsoon trough extends from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, and the southern part of Bangladesh up to Assam. The monsoon is relatively active over Bangladesh and is in a moderate state over the northern Bay of Bengal.

Until Wednesday morning (July 31), light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds may occur in most places of Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, many areas of Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and some places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Rangpur divisions. Additionally, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some areas of the country. Day and night temperatures across the country may decrease slightly.

From Wednesday morning until Thursday morning (August 1), light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds may occur in most places of Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, and many places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions. There may also be moderate to very heavy rainfall in some areas of the country. Day and night temperatures across the country may decrease slightly.

From Thursday morning until Friday morning (August 2), light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds may occur in most places of Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, and many places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions. Additionally, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some areas of the country. Day and night temperatures across the country may decrease slightly. The tendency for rainfall may increase during the extended five-day period.
