Adviser Nahid ordered to make mobile network free in flood affected areas

Adviser of Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology and Information and Broadcasting has ordered to make mobile network free in the relevant areas in the current flood situation. Nahid Islam.

Feni, Noakhali and surrounding areas have been affected by heavy rains and floods from upstream.

Adviser Nahid gave a statement on Thursday (August 22) regarding the latest situation and preparedness of the flood-affected areas.

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mo Nahid Islam informed the latest status of mobile network in flood situation in the country.

He said that 13 percent of the sites (towers) in the flood affected area are down. The network has been disrupted due to optical fiber damage in some upazilas. There are power outages in some places. Generator is in use 10 Visats are ready in case of network disconnection.  

He also said that instructions have been given to make mobile network free in the concerned areas.
