The families of the martyrs in the coup are getting 5 lakh, the injured are getting a maximum of 1 lakh

From the ‘Julai Shaheed Smriti Foundation’ financial assistance will be given to the families of the martyrs and the injured persons in the mass uprising of the students. Initially, each martyr’s family will be given five lakh rupees and each injured person will be given a maximum of one lakh rupees.

This decision was taken in the first meeting of the executive committee of the foundation today on Wednesday. President and Chief Adviser of National Guest House Yamuna Foundation. The meeting was chaired by Muhammad Yunus. Later this information was given in a press release from the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser. Mention, it has already been decided that the medical expenses of the injured persons will be paid by the Ministry of Health.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the Interim Government donated Tk 100 crore to ‘Julai Shaheed Smriti Foundation’. This amount is paid from the Chief Adviser’s Relief and Welfare Fund. In this regard, in a press conference in Dhaka, the office secretary of the foundation and the information and broadcasting advisor of the interim government said. Nahid Islam said that through this foundation, one-time and monthly assistance will be given to the families of the martyrs and the injured in the July uprising. Apart from this, emergency financial assistance will be given separately according to the damage.

Today in the first meeting of the executive committee of the foundation, it was decided that the injured people will be given financial assistance as soon as possible. And checks will be handed over to the families of the martyrs at a function in the capital.

It should be noted that the government is planning a memorial meeting with them in Dhaka when the list of martyrs is finalized. A preliminary list of the martyred and injured in the July uprising has already been made. According to the information of the committee of the Ministry of Health, about 800 people were martyred and more than 20 thousand were injured. The families of the martyrs are being contacted. A memorial service will be held when everyone is contacted.

The Executive Committee of the Foundation has appealed to people from all walks of life, expatriates, organizations and businesses to donate to the Foundation.

The committee also decided that an office would be set up for this foundation and run by volunteers. The foundation will preserve videos, photographs, oral histories and other documents and memorabilia of the uprising.

We have to work hard to make it a success.’ He further said that small donations will also be registered in this foundation and list of donors will be maintained. If possible, their names should be published on the foundation’s website.

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam, Youth and Sports Ministry Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Social Welfare Adviser Sharmin S Murshid, Foundation General Secretary Mir Mahbubur Rahman (Snigdha) and Treasurer Kazi Waqar Ahmed were present in the meeting.
