In the first 21 days of this September, expatriate Bangladeshis sent remittances of 1.63 billion 4.2 million US dollars through legal channels in the country. Its amount in Bangladeshi currency is 19 thousand 610 crores 40 lakhs (120 rupees per dollar).

According to the data of Bangladesh Bank, the amount of remittance received in the first 21 days of this month is more than 300 million dollars more than the whole month of the same period last year. In September 2023, remittances came in at $1.33 billion.
According to the data of the central bank, the average daily remittances in September were 7 crore 78 lakh 20 thousand dollars. If remittances continue to come in at this rate, expatriate income will exceed 233 million dollars at the end of the month.
Analyzing the data, it can be seen that in 21 days, 48 crore 7 lakh 50 thousand US dollars came through the state-owned banks. 6 crore 98 lakh 30 thousand US dollars came through Krishi Bank. 107 crore 96 lakh 10 thousand dollars came through private commercial banks. And 4 million 30 thousand dollars came through foreign banks.
