A glimpse of storm in 16 regions including Dhaka-Chittagong-Sylhet

Winds of up to 60 km are likely to blow over 16 regions of the country. Therefore, warning signals have been raised in the river ports of all those areas.

The Meteorological Office has given such a forecast on Wednesday (September 25).

Meteorologist Md. Shahinul Islam said 45-60 km per hour from South/South-East over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Tangail, Mymensingh, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Dhaka, Faridpur, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet areas. Meanwhile, a low pressure is present over West Central Bay of Bengal and adjacent Northwest Bay of Bengal. Due to its influence, deep convective clouds continue to form in the northern Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Bangladesh. Gusty winds may blow over Bangladesh’s coastal areas, North Bay of Bengal and sea ports.

In this situation, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports have been asked to display three local warning signals (again).

Fishing boats and trawlers operating in North Bay of Bengal have been asked to approach the coast with caution until further notice.
