Three key swing states in the southern US are shaping up to be disappointing results for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina are ending the ‘honeymoon’ for the US vice president, according to a new poll. These three are among the key states that are considered to be truly competitive ahead of the November 5 US presidential election.
A September 1-21 poll by the New York Times and Siena College found Kamla trailing in two of three key swing states. Earlier, he was ahead of his rival Trump in these states.
According to the results of the survey, if Trump wins in these three states, it will be easy for him to get 262 electoral votes. That is, if he wants to go to the White House, he will have to win any one of the three Democratic states known as Michigan, Pennsylvania or Wisconsin.
A poll of 713 voters in Arizona found that Trump returned the best. Kamala was 5 points ahead of Trump here last August. But Trump is ahead by 5 points behind Kamala again. Currently, Trump’s support is 50 percent and Orange’s 45 percent. Trump leads in Georgia by 4 points. There his support is 49 percent and Kamala’s 45 percent. North Carolina is only 2 points behind. There, Trump’s support is 49 percent and Kamala’s 47 percent.
Trump’s support is mainly among those over 45. Trump’s approval rating is 58 percent among 45- to 64-year-olds and 53 percent among those older than that. In addition, Trump’s support is higher among whites and those who have not attended school. 63 percent of this group support Trump. But Trump has the most support in western Arizona. His support there is 74 percent.
Meanwhile, Trump was ahead by 4 points in Georgia last month. This time also he is ahead by 4 points in the survey among 682 voters. His support is 49 percent and Kamala’s support is 45 percent.
Meanwhile, according to a report by The Guardian, anxiety is growing among the Democrats. The Democratic camp is worried that Trump’s chances of winning the November election have become stronger than the news about the results of the opinion polls.
Although most national polls consistently show Kamla ahead, her activist supporters are still worried. The fact that he is leading by a small margin in the three important swing states of the North, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, is especially worrying for them. Kamala has no choice but to win these three states to go to the White House.
Some polls show Orange leading by 4 to 6 points in Pennsylvania, the most important state. Some surveys show that the difference is small. In Michigan and Wisconsin, the gap between them is very small. There Orange leads by 1 to 2 points. Democrats fear that Trump exceeded all forecasts in 2016. He won against Hillary Clinton. Later in 2020, he narrowly lost to Joe Biden.
In the meantime, the New York Times and Siena Poll polls have created additional fears of Trump advancing in the three states known as the Sun Belt states.
