Chief Adviser to Meet Martyrs’ Families on Sunday

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus will hold a meeting with the families of martyrs on Sunday (February 9).

On Thursday (February 6) at around 3:30 PM, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner of Crime, Nazrul Islam, informed the protesting family members about this meeting.

He stated, “The Chief Adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, will sit for discussions with the families of the martyrs on Sunday.”

However, the protesters rejected his statement, expressing their frustration. They said, “We have been going from door to door for the past seven months, yet no visible justice has been served. We even staged a five-hour protest in front of the Chief Adviser’s residence at Jamuna, but he did not grant us access. If Libya can sentence 30 people to death in just one month, why has the government failed to take any action in seven months?”

As of the time this report was written, families and relatives of the victims were staging a protest at Shahbagh intersection in the capital, demanding justice for every killing in the July coup and rehabilitation for the martyrs’ families. The protest began at 11:30 AM on Thursday (February 6).
