The Special Envoy for International Affairs of the Chief Adviser is Lutfe Siddiqui

The chief adviser of the interim government. Lutfe Siddiqui has been appointed as Special Envoy for International Affairs of Muhammad Yunus. The Cabinet Department has issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.

Lutfe Siddiqui will receive the salary and perquisites of adviser rank during his tenure as Special Envoy for International Affairs, the notification said.

After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in the face of the students’ movement, on August 8, Dr. An interim government was formed with Muhammad Yunus as the chief adviser. The number of members of this government including the chief advisor is 21 so far.

Lutfe Siddiqui is the son of Sitakunda, Chittagong. His father AYBI Siddiqui was the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Bangladesh from 27 September 1998 to 7 June 2000.

Lutfe Siddiqui graduated in Economics from the University of York, UK. He later did a Masters in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE). Lutfe Siddiqui is currently a Visiting Professor at LSE. At the same time, he is an adjunct professor at the National University of Singapore. Prior to that, he was Global Head of Emerging Markets for Foreign Exchange, Interest Rates and Credit at United Bank of Switzerland (UBS) and Managing Director at Berkeley Bank.
