The World Bank will support the reform, giving 3.5 billion dollars

The World Bank will support the various reform initiatives taken by the interim government including economic, digitization, liquidity, energy and power and transport. As a part of this, the organization will provide three and a half billion dollars in assistance to Bangladesh.

On Wednesday (September 25) on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the chief adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh. World Bank President Ajay Banga announced this assistance in a meeting with Muhammad Yunus.

According to the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser, Ajay Banga said that the World Bank will provide three and a half billion dollars to Bangladesh in support of the reform initiatives of the interim government.

A long time friend Dr. Ajay Banga told Muhammad Yunus that out of the three and a half billion dollars, at least two billion dollars will be new loans and another one and a half billion dollars will be provided to various existing programs.

In the meeting, Professor Yunus highlighted the extensive reform initiatives taken by the interim government and sought the assistance of the World Bank.

The chief adviser said, it is a great opportunity to shape Bangladesh.

The World Bank President spoke about cooperation in the energy sector in South Asia and how Nepal and Bhutan can share hydropower generation with neighbors like Bangladesh and India.
