Minister calls for writing heroism of liberation war

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said that to build the new generation in the spirit of the great liberation war, they have to be told the heroic freedom fighters’ heroic story. Therefore, he called upon the brave freedom fighters to write down their heroic deeds in the liberation war.

He made the call in his speech as the chief guest at the unveiling ceremony of the book titled ‘Birtabagantha of Heroic Freedom Fighters’ written by heroic freedom fighter Shahjahan Kabir (Bir Pratik) at the conference room of the Ministry of Liberation War on Wednesday (February 9).

He said that the great liberation war was not an accident. Independent Bangladesh is the fruit of 23 years of struggle and sacrifice under the leadership of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The country has to be built as the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu’s dream to make independence meaningful.

He said the more the new generation knows the history of the liberation war, the more they will take the country forward with patriotism. During this time, the Minister painted a picture of various discriminations against Bengalis during the Pakistan period.

Former Secretary Shahjahan Siddiqui (Bir Bikram) presided over the function. At the same time, Sub Sector Commander Mahabub Uddin Ahmed (Bir Bikram) and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Kamrun Nahar also spoke.

In the first part of the book, the organizational structure of the great liberation war, names of 11 sector commanders and details of 3 brigade forces, including sector areas, names and details of sub-sector commanders under 11 sectors, have been recorded. In the second part, the story of 7 Bir Shrestha, in the third part, 34 Bir Uttam, in the fourth part, 46 Bir Bikram and in the last part, 214 heroic stories of heroic battles are told.

In addition, details of these heroes from their childhood to their present position are given.
