General Secretary of Awami League Obaidul Quader has claimed that the 27 points announced by BNP demanding the repair of the state is a stunt. He said that Awami League thinks that the movement will not gather, and people will not be confused. Obaidul Quader said these things in the meeting of the food sub-committee comprising the party’s 22nd National Conference at the political office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday. Quader termed BNP’s claim to repair the state as ridiculous. He said that the state today is a wonder of the world. Bangladesh 14 years ago and today’s Bangladesh development scenario is different. The country they brought to the brink of destruction, Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has repaired it by building Digital Bangladesh under her skillful leadership. Now moving forward to make Smart Bangladesh in 2040. Obaidul Quader said, “Democracy, we do not steal votes.” They are the ones who stole the votes and rigged the votes. Aziz Marka formed the Election Commission with the party people. These stories are not new. Obaidul Quader claimed that BNP had cast a farcical Yes/No vote in the name of democracy and said, “Somewhere, 120 percent votes were cast.” We saw such elections in Bangladesh. Obaidul Quader said BNP is the owner of lies. They don’t tell the truth. The people of this country are not so stupid as to trust BNP. Their leaders-activists came to the field hoping for power but could not bring the common people to the field. Common people think that Sheikh Hasina is the liberator of this country. People of this country believe that BNP is the sponsor of militancy and the trusted address of communalism. If BNP comes to power, then 27 points will be implemented – Obaidul Quader said about such a statement of the BNP, “If it comes to power, it will throw its words into the river.” If it comes, then it will be. Stating that Awami League must show smartness in all its activities, the general secretary of the party said, “There should be no disorder in the conference, there will be no shortage of people criticizing us in newspapers and magazines”.
