Due to the influence of the full moon and pressure difference, there is a risk of high tides of more than 2 to 3 feet in the coastal districts.
The Meteorological Office gave such information in a forecast on Wednesday (August 2).
Meteorologist Kho. Hafizur Rahman said, the deep low pressure in Khulna and adjoining areas has moved west-northwestward and weakened and is currently in the form of land depression in West Bengal-Bihar and adjoining areas. It may gradually weaken as it moves further west-northwestwards.
Due to the influence of land low pressure, there is an excess of air pressure difference in the northern Bay of Bengal and adjacent coastal areas of Bangladesh. As a result, stormy winds may continue in North Bay of Bengal and adjacent coastal areas of Bangladesh.
For this reason Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports have been asked to show 03 (three) number (re:) 03 (three) local warning signal.
Meanwhile, under the influence of full moon and excess of pressure difference, the coastal districts and the low lying areas of their remote islands and chars may be inundated by wind driven tides with a height of 02-03 feet higher than the normal tide.
In this situation, all fishing boats and trawlers stationed in North Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been asked to remain in safe shelter till further instructions.
In another forecast, the Meteorological Office said, 60-80 km per hour from south/south-east over Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar regions. Temporarily windy with gusty rain/thundershowers.
The river ports in these areas have been asked to display Naval Warning Signal No. 2 (re) Naval Warning Signal No. 2.

Temporarily gusty/stormy winds may occur. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1 (re) 1.
