France President Macron to visit Bangladesh on Sept 10

President Emmanuel Macron will arrive in Bangladesh on September 10 after attending the G20 Leaders Summit next month.

French embassy in Dhaka confirmed the matter in a statement on Monday (September 4).

President Macron will attend the G-20 summit in Delhi on September 9-10. After the conference, he will visit Dhaka on September 10, said French embassy.

“Bangladesh and France show great convergence in the face of global challenges, particularly within the framework of the Paris Agenda for Peoples and the Planet, which Bangladesh actively supports,” reads the statement.

It also described Bangladesh as a country that is experiencing “rapid economic growth and seeking to diversify” its partnerships.

Earlier, Foreign minister AK Abdul Momen on Wednesday (August 30) said that the President of France has been invited to visit Bangladesh and if he comes, Bangladesh will welcome him.
