The Income of Padma Bridge in One and a Half Years is More than 1186 Crore Taka

Dhaka: After the inauguration of the Padma Bridge, a total toll collection of more than BDT 1,186.82 crore has been recorded in the past one and a half years.

On Monday (December 18), an additional director of Padma Bridge, Amirul Haider Chowdhury, confirmed this information to the media.

He stated that from the day of commencement of traffic until Saturday at 11:59 PM, a total toll of BDT 1,186.82 crore and 79,850,850 has been collected at the two toll plazas in Mawa and Jazira. Since the inauguration of the bridge on September 20, 2022, toll collection from the bridge has exceeded BDT 1,000 crore within one year, two months, and 25 days.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the much-anticipated Padma Bridge on June 25, 2022. The bridge, spanning 6.15 kilometers, was constructed for BDT 30,193 crore, connecting 21 districts of the southern and southwestern regions.
