Bangabandhu tunnel built on the Karnaphuli river in Chittagong and four new police stations have been proposed for the security of Purbachal in Dhaka. Also, two dozen proposals are being raised in the National Implementation Committee (NICAR) meeting regarding administrative restructuring, including five more municipalities in the country.
Proposals for formation or establishment of new divisions, districts, upazilas, city corporations, municipalities, police stations and for expansion or reorganization are approved in the National Implementation Committee on Administrative Reorganization (NICAR).
The Cabinet Department has sent a proposal to the Prime Minister’s Office to fix the date of the meeting.
The Local Government Department has proposed the formation of new Ashuganj Upazila Municipality of Brakshanbaria District, Kashinathpur Municipality under Sathia Upazila of Pabna, Sadullapur Municipality under Sadullapur Upazila of Gaibandhar, Vinodganj Municipality of Paikgacha in Khulna and Roumari Municipality under Roumari Upazila of Kurigram.
It is proposed to establish four new police stations in the organizational structure of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP). They are Bangabandhu Tunnel East Police Station, Bangabandhu Tunnel West Police Station, Kattoli Police Station and Mohra Police Station. It is proposed to divide Raujan Thana of Chittagong and establish South Raujan Thana.
Galipur Investigation Center under Nawabganj Police Station of Dhaka is proposed to be upgraded to Police Station and Komarganj Police Station is established.
The Public Safety Department has proposed the establishment of Purbachal South Police Station under Rupganj Thana of Narayganj and Purbachal North Police Station under Kaliganj Police Station of Gazipur for the security of Purbachal New City Project area near Dhaka.
It has also been proposed to upgrade the Tabalchari Police Investigation Center in Matiranga of Khagrachari to a police station.
It has been proposed to redefine the jurisdiction of Mohammadpur police station and Dhanmondi police station under the organizational structure of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and re-delimitation of the jurisdiction of Bhulli police station and Ruhia police station in Thakurgaon district.
The local government department has proposed to form Purulia as a new upazila by combining the eight unions of Sadar and Kalia upazilas of Narail district.
Khulna City Corporation boundary extension and Joypurhat Municipal boundary extension of Jaipurhat are proposed.
The Public Security Department has proposed setting up Hazrat Shah Burhan Police Investigation Center at Manniachar of Islampur Police Station in Jamalpur and Jaigir Arpara of Muksudpur Police Station in Gopalganj.
It has been proposed to set up Banshkandi Police Investigation Center in Madaripur’s Shibchar rice paddy Banshkandi and Baheratala North Unions. It is proposed to set up South Gabtali Police Investigation Center of Sikdar Mallik Union under Sadar Thana of Pirojpur District.
