Bongobondhu Satellite-2 to Be Launched Within Four Years

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, announced that the Bangabandhu Satellite-2 will be launched within the next four years. He mentioned that this satellite would provide early warnings for disasters such as floods and earthquakes.

He shared this information during the general discussion on the proposed budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year in the session of the National Parliament on Thursday (June 20).

The State Minister for Information and Communication Technology stated that currently, forty television channels in the country are operating through the Bangabandhu Satellite. The Prime Minister has also directed to extend the benefits of the Bangabandhu Satellite to neighboring countries. However, we are not stopping at this. We will implement paperless services so that people can receive all kinds of services from their homes. By 2041, we aim to make Bangladesh 100% digital. There will be no need to visit offices for any government or private assistance, and no paper will be used. Everyone will receive the necessary support from their homes.

Zunaid Ahmed Palak further mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangabandhu Satellite-2 will be launched within the next four years. This will enable us to receive early warnings for disasters like floods and earthquakes. Additionally, the satellite will also increase revenue.
