Democratic presidential candidate and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the November election.
In the election, Vice President Harris will face former President Donald Trump.
This formal announcement was made Tuesday ahead of a Democratic candidate event in Philadelphia.
“I am pleased to inform you that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will join me as my running mate in the campaign,” Harris said in a text message to her supporters.
“Tim is a tested leader with an extraordinary record of working for Minnesota’s families. I know he will bring a policy-driven leadership to our campaign and the vice presidency,” Harris added.
To determine the election outcome, they will focus their campaign efforts on key states that play a crucial role. Harris will campaign in Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, and Nevada.
