During the quota reform movement, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor of the interim government, visited the home of Abu Saeed, who was killed in the police firing.

On Saturday (August 10), at around 11 AM, he arrived at Abu Saeed’s home in Rangpur. Prior to this, he had flown from Dhaka to Rangpur by helicopter.

Upon reaching Abu Saeed’s residence, Dr. Yunus visited his grave. A special prayer was held to seek forgiveness for the souls of those who died during the movement. During this visit, Dr. Yunus was accompanied by several coordinators of the quota movement.

After visiting the grave, the chief advisor went to Abu Saeed’s home and spoke with his family members.

Later, Dr. Yunus will visit Begum Rokeya University (BRU) in Rangpur. He will also inspect the area where Abu Saeed was shot.

Abu Saeed was the son of Moksud Hossain from Babunpur village in the Madankhali Union of Pirganj Upazila, Rangpur. He was the youngest among his nine siblings.

On July 16, around 2:30 PM, a clash occurred between the police and student activists demanding quota reform on the road in front of BRU. During the clash, Abu Saeed, a student of the 12th batch of the English Department at BRU and a key coordinator of the anti-discrimination quota movement, was shot and killed.
