Lucas Pacquiao’s one goal at the Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro beat Peru 1-0 to secure a place in the Copa America final. Neymar’s Brazil beat Peru 4-0 in the first match of the group stage and they repeated the match with 1-0 goal.
Brazil played much more aggressive in the first half. The result also got in the 35th minute. In the second half, Brazil did not look exactly like ‘Brazil’. Peru played with a single dominance. Instead, the Brazilian defense was busy preventing Peru’s attack throughout the second half. The Peru kept on attacking the Brazilian defense one after the other. If goalkeeper Ederson had not shown determination, Brazil might have had to say goodbye.
However, Peru did not get a chance to equalize in the 81st minute. Yotun’s free kick was headed in by Alexander Coyne, but missed.
The rest of the time there was no chance in front of the two teams. The last runners-up could not use the extra five minutes. Brazil secured a ticket to the Copa final with a 1-0 victory.
