Foreign Minister of Bangladesh AK Abdul Momen exchanged views with Dutch students on the issue of climate change. He is currently in the Netherlands. “Young people need to take responsibility for protecting the climate,” he told students at the University of Groningen on Tuesday.
Note that this is the only university in the world that conducts detailed research on climate change adaptation.
In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, the Foreign Minister called upon the youth to come forward and take the lead in tackling the challenges of climate change. Dr. Momen emphasizes the role of teachers, researchers and students in creating platforms to tackle the challenges of climate change quickly and effectively.
The Foreign Minister visited Deltaras, a first-rate specialized applied research institute on Dutch waters, and held discussions with its managing director, Animek Nihof, and his scientific colleagues.
The meeting discussed in detail the implementation of Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100.
The Foreign Minister is on a three-day official visit to the Netherlands. Hague Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. Momen will hold a bilateral meeting with Dutch Foreign Minister Sigrid Kag.
