Army Chief General S.M. Shafiuddin Ahmed will leave Dhaka for the United States at 1:40 pm on Saturday on an official visit. He is going to the United States at the invitation of the US Army to attend the Indo-Pacific Army Chiefs Conference (IPEC) -2021 to be held in Hawaii, USA.
IPAC is being held this year under the joint auspices of the US Indo-Pacific Command and the Papua New Guinea Defense Force. Where senior leaders from 17 countries in the Indo-Pacific region will participate. This year’s IPEC will discuss future operational environments.
General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed will participate in bilateral meetings with army chiefs of different countries at the conference.
The visit of the Chief of Army Staff is expected to further strengthen the relationship between the Indo-Pacific countries and the Bangladesh Army and increase the potential for mutual cooperation. He is expected to return to the country on September 18 after the visit.
