Situation is improving in flood prone areas

There is no fear of major floods in the country this year. The situation in all the flood-hit areas is now improving. Occasionally, the water level in the upper reaches of the river rises, but it will decrease rapidly.

Highlighting the flood situation in the country, the Executive Engineer of the Flood Forecasting and Warning Center of the Bangladesh Water Development Board gave this information.

He added that the water levels of all major rivers in the country are declining, which is likely to continue for the next 72 hours.

The engineer said, there was no fear of a major flood situation this year. However, isolated rains or upstream floods may cause temporary light floods.

The official of the Flood Forecasting and Warning Center said, the flood situation has not been very large this year. There has been water in some areas for some time. There was more suffering, especially in the central region. In addition, the flood situation in some areas has returned to normal within a few days.

According to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Center, not many areas of the country are flooded now. There were moderate floods this year. Yet in several areas the water of several rivers is flowing over the danger zone.
