Children get 100 awards on Bangabandhu’s birth centenary

Awami League’s Forests and Environment Affairs Sub-Committee has given 100 awards to children after completion of drawing competition on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

A total of hundred children received the awards at a ceremony at National Museum’s Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib auditorium at Shahbagh here Saturday afternoon.

AL Presidium Member Begum Matia Chowdhury joined the function as the chief guest while AL Joint General Secretary Mahbubul-Alam Hanif spoke on the occasion as the special guest.

AL Forests and Environment Affairs Sub-Committee’s Chairman Prof Khandker Bazlul Haque chaired the function while eminent artist Shahabuddin Ahmed and Dhaka University former Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Nasreen Ahmad also spoke on the occasion.

Former Bangladesh National Cricket Team Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, MP, greeted the awardees joining the ceremony on virtual platform while AL Forests and Environment Affairs Secretary and the sub-committee’s member secretary Delwar Hossain moderated it.

Each child of different classes under ‘Ka’ category received comic book, globe, crystal of Bangabandhu’s portrait, three packets of color-pencil, certificates signed by Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina and tree plants along with tub while the child who attained the first position in the competition received sculpture of Bangabandhu along with the other awards.

Besides, children in ‘Kha-Ga-Gha’ categories were awarded with books–‘The Unfinished Memoirs’ by Bangabandhu (Ausamapta Atmajiboni), Ekattorer Sohojoddha, Karagarer Rojnamcha, Amar Dekha Naya Chin and Sato Borshe Bangabandhu.
