Simultaneous immunization programs observed across the country

At the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare initiative, a day-long immunization program has been observed yesterday (28 September) with the target of giving the Covid-19 vaccine to 75 lakh people across the country.

The program runs smoothly across unions, wards, city corporations, and urban areas. About 80,000 people, including government, private, and volunteers, took part in the program.

Meanwhile, to monitor the program’s progress at noon, Dhanmondi 8 / A, Dingi restaurant adjacent to the vaccination center, visited the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister. Ahmed Kaikaus, Health Services Secretary Lokman Hossain Mia, Director General of the Department of Health Prof ABM Khurshid Alam, and other officials.

During the visit, the Chief Secretary said that the immunization program is being carried out smoothly all over the country. The people of the country have spontaneously taken part in the vaccination program. This program will continue until our goals are met.

Note that this program has been celebrated in Dhaka Medical College, Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Mugda Medical College Hospital, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital, Sheikh Russell Gastroliver Hospital, and Kurmitola General Hospital.

Earlier, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek MP handed over an estimated 75 lakh to all organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to commemorate the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He directed to keep the dignity of the Prime Minister’s birthday intact by setting targets for individuals and implementing this vaccination program. As per the instructions of Health Minister, 75 lakh doses of the Covid-19 vaccine program were successfully observed across the country through a unique campaign today.

Earlier, on the occasion of the program, the Department of Health informed that the day-long campaign would be conducted in all city corporations, municipalities, Upazilas, and unions across the country, which will start from 9 am. Only 1st dose of vaccine will be provided in this campaign. The second dose will be given next month through a similar campaign.

Citizens registered above 25 years of age registered before the campaign will be called to the center via SMS, vaccinations will be given to the senior citizens, women, and the physically challenged on a priority basis in the first 2 hours of the campaign, along with NID card and vaccine card for vaccination. And lactating women will not be vaccinated.

Until the last news was received at 5 pm, it was learned that vaccination was happening in the centers where the target was not met.
