Sheikh Hasina said, “We are paying special attention to the export of agricultural products.” He needs to pick up the crop from the field, store it and put it in the cargo. Cargo Village has to be done for him.
Sheikh Hasina said, “We are looking at how to pick the crop from the land, keep it, and hand it over to the cargo. We have to set up a cargo village. There will be different chambers. There will be arrangements to fix which crop is good at what temperature.” “
Regarding the Cargo Village, he said there would be different chambers. Which crop will be which curry, which will be good at what degree of temperature — but these have international research results.
“I have seen it in the Netherlands, and I will do it in our country,” he said. Such a communication system has to be made to bring the cargo from the field. Now we send cargo overseas with cargo flight fares, but we need a few cargo planes of our own.
The Prime Minister said, “The 100 economic zones that we are working on will focus on processing the crop that will be the best in the region. If we can process more, we will be able to earn more foreign exchange.”
She also hoped that the export of ICT and digital devices and agricultural products would contribute to the formation of a self-reliant nation by leading the economy of Bangladesh towards the desired prosperity.
The Prime Minister also said that she had instructed Bangladesh Biman to build its cargo capacity if it is properly packaged after harvesting from the field and exported directly to air cargo.
On food security in the country, the Prime Minister said Bangladesh is conducting its research and at the same time trying to increase food production through liaison with international research institutes.
