The Minister of Information and Broadcasting Dr. Hasan Mahmud congratulated Maria Resa of the Philippines and Dmitry Muratov of Russia two journalist who won the Nobel Peace Prize this year. In regarding that Dr. Hasan said the country, society, and the state benefit from journalists who work objectively without fear.
He made the remarks while exchanging views with journalists after delivering a keynote address at the Dhaka Club in the capital on Sunday evening.
Dr. Hassan told reporters that two journalists had won the Nobel Peace Prize six years later. This is why they deserve everyone’s congratulations, and the example they have set for overcoming all fears, greed, and lust will inspire journalists worldwide.
Earlier in the speech. Hasan Mahmud said that journalists have a lot of power. They can highlight the unspoken issues of the society, the unspoken pain of the people. Marginal journalists can play a unique role in this—the country, community, and the state benefit from this work of journalists.
