Dipu Moni called for building social resistance against communal forces

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni has called for building social resistance against communal evils.

She was speaking as the chief guest at a virtual discussion organized by the Swadhinata Teachers’ Council (Swaship) against communal terrorism in different parts of the country.

Prof. Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, President of the organization was the keynote speaker at the meeting titled ‘Role of Teachers in Protecting Social Harmony’ chaired by General Secretary Principal Md. Shahjahan Alam Saju.

Speaking as the chief guest, the Education Minister said that under the leadership of successful statesman Sheikh Hasina, when Bangladesh stands tall in the world as a dignified nation, a section of the people defeated in 1971 and rejected by the people are conspiring to tarnish communal harmony.

Calling on the teachers to build social resistance against this evil force, he added that teachers are still the most respected personalities in the society. Teachers can play the biggest role in this.

The Education Minister called upon the teachers of all walks of life to make the students, parents and people of all walks of life aware of this issue.

She said the dream of the liberation war was a non-communal, democratic and non-discriminatory Bangladesh, where every person would live with his equal rights and dignity.

The education minister said communal evil emerged in the country with the assassination of Bangabandhu in 1975 in his own family. At this time the freedom fighters have become well-established in the society and the state. That evil power is still very active. We have to build social resistance against them.
