South Korea has expressed interest in cooperating with Dhaka South City Corporation in the Internet of Things (IoT) based traffic management activities.
Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DHDC), met with South Korean Ambassador to Dhaka Lee Jang-Kyun in a courtesy call at Nagar Bhaban yesterday afternoon. During the meeting, the mayor was briefed on new initiatives to streamline traffic management activities in South City, after which Korean Ambassador Zhang Kiun expressed interest in cooperating.
“South Korea has implemented IoT-based traffic management,” said Korean Ambassador Zhang Kiyun. Dhaka is at the top of the list of most densely populated cities. Therefore, South Korea is interested in extending the hand of cooperation in South City Corporation’s modern technology-based traffic management activities.
In response, Uddasik Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh thanked the Korean Ambassador and said, “South Korea’s position on technology is powerful and cohesive.” We applaud South Korea’s offer of sincere cooperation to streamline traffic management activities promptly. “
During the meeting, the Korean Ambassador also offered to provide necessary training to South City officials to speed up city management activities. The Mayor and the Korean Ambassador also expressed their determination to work together based on cooperation to move the culture of the two countries to a higher level of prosperity in exchange for Bangladesh-Korea culture.
South City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Farid Ahmed and Secretary Akramuzzaman, among others, were present at the occasion.
