Bangladesh will play Australia World Cup in the Super Twelve

Bangladesh got good news at the rate of the Caribbean. World champions West Indies lost to Australia by eight wickets in their fifth and final match of the ongoing T20 World Cup Super Twelve in Abu Dhabi yesterday. The Tigers will play in the Super Twelve in the 2022 World Cup in Australia. Bangladesh will not have to play a qualifying round in the World Cup.

The ICC had earlier ruled to play in the 2022 T20 World Cup directly in the Super Twelve. One must be in the top eight of the T20 rankings by November 15. Those who remain outside the top eight will play the first chapter.

Bangladesh has risen to eighth place because of the West Indies defeat. Their rating is 232.

Before the start of the World Cup, Bangladesh was at number six in the rankings. But in this year’s World Cup, Bangladesh lost eight out of eight matches and dropped to ninth place with 234 points. The West Indies were in eighth place with 233 ratings. Afghanistan was seventh with 234 ratings. And with 232 ratings, Sri Lanka was in tenth place as a fraction.

But Bangladesh has risen to the eighth position in the rate of West Indies. West Indies dropped to tenth place with 226 ratings. Sri Lanka came in ninth with 232 ratings. With the first eight teams out, Sri Lanka and the West Indies will play in the first round of the upcoming T20 World Cup. Namibia and Scotland will also have to play in the first round of the next World Cup.

The teams that will play in the main draw of the next World Cup are Australia, England, India, Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa.

With two World Cups in two years, the International Cricket Council (ICC), the governing body of cricket, has chosen the ranking process to select Super Twelve teams.
