Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO) Limited has organized an internal badminton competition on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The inaugural ceremony was held on Thursday (November 25) at 5 pm at the Nikunj Owners Association ground adjacent to the DESCO training building. DESCO Board Chairman and Additional Secretary Power Mohang Selim Uddin were present as the Chief Guest.
Speaking as the chief guest, he said that the purpose of celebrating Mujib’s birth centenary was to be inspired by the ideals of Bangabandhu. Where would we be if Bangladesh was not independent? Today Pakistanis are jealous of us.
The event was presided over by DESCO Managing Director Eng. Mr. Md. Kawsar Amir Ali. He said, “I could not celebrate Bangabandhu’s birth centenary the way I wanted to because of the Corona epidemic.” We will organize some more events in the year of Mujib.
Officers and employees of all departments of DESCO were present on the occasion.
