Iran is committed to defending the nuclear deal

A spokesman for Iran‘s foreign ministry said it was determined to reach an agreement with major powers on the defense of the 2015 nuclear deal in Vienna starting Monday. News from AFP.

Khatibzadeh told reporters that the Iranian delegation in Vienna was committed to reaching an agreement and hoped for fruitful talks.

He said, “The government has shown goodwill and sincerity by sending a team known to all. If the other side shows a similar friendship, we will be on the right track to reach an agreement. “

According to local media, an Iranian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri has been sent for new talks.

The spokesman said, “If the United States comes to Vienna with the conviction of resolving the stalemate and overcoming the problems, the path of dialogue on all the issues on which we did not agree in the previous round will be easier.”

Negotiations on the 2015 nuclear deal were postponed in June. Iran, Britain, China, France, Germany, and Russia are resuming talks to implement the agreement.

The government of then US President Donald Trump unilaterally abandoned the agreement in 2018. They are expected to participate in the talks indirectly.
