First Omicron patient identified in China

This is the first time in China that a mutated form of coronavirus has been identified in a patient infected with Omicron. The AFP news agency quoted the country’s state-run media as saying in a report on Monday.

AFP reported that a man came to the northern Chinese city of Tianjin on Thursday to be tested for corona symptoms. Analysis of the sample given for the test shows that the person is infected with Omicron. He is currently in isolation at a hospital in Tianjin.

China will host the Winter Olympics in February next year. With this in mind, the country’s communist government takes massive precautionary measures to prevent a possible wave of Corona.

In consultation with the country’s disease control agencies, the Chinese cabinet or state council has already instructed to tighten corona restrictions in all port cities of the country, including Tianjin. The COVID Protocol has also been tightened in the 140-kilometer area around Beijing’s capital.

The source of the coronavirus is Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China. The first case of Corona was diagnosed in Uhan in December 2019, the first death in Corona.

However, the Chinese government and international epidemiological and public health experts are divided over the first virus case in any part of the city.

The Chinese government has insisted that the deadly virus spread from its seafood market and that the virus was transmitted to humans through the bodies of bats, pangolins, or similar wildlife.

Incidentally, the seafood market also sells meat of domestic and marine animals and live or processed wildlife. However, the Chinese government has announced that the market will be closed indefinitely after the outbreak.

However, scientists in the United States and Europe are deeply skeptical of the Chinese government’s statement. On December 16, 2019, the first corona patient was identified in Uhan, and the first person to be recognized as an accountant at Uhan’s Virus and Bacteria Laboratory.

Noting that the researcher had no connection with Wuhan’s seafood market, some international experts directly claimed that it was not from the seafood market; The virus had spread from his laboratory.

However, Michael Orobe, head of the Department of Ecology and Biological Evolution at the University of Arizona in the United States, recently conducted a study. The research report was published in the American science-based journal Science.

Michael Orobe said in his research paper that the first patient was identified on December 11, not December 16, but four days earlier.

He added that the first person diagnosed with the disease was a woman and a trader in the seafood market, so she had to go to the market every day.

Meanwhile, on November 24, South Africa informed the world about the first Corona modified type Omicron. However, a study found that a patient infected with the virus was identified in the Netherlands five days before the world was informed about the virus in South Africa.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Omicron, a mutated form of SARS-Cove-2 or coronavirus, has spread to 63 countries worldwide.
