BCS officers must act as servants of the people: Speaker

Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said BCS officials should ensure justice for the people and serve the people.

She said that their role is to bring the touch of development to the doorsteps of the common person. The Speaker called upon the young officials to build a better Bangladesh while maintaining the continuity of development.

He spoke as the chief guest at a function titled ‘9th Anniversary of Joining and Entering the 10th Year’ organized by the 31st BCS Cadre Association at Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Auditorium of the National Museum in the capital. Meanwhile, the Speaker unveiled the book ‘The Politician’ written by the 31st BCS Cadre Association.

The Speaker said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has worked to realize the rights of the people of Bengal through 24 years-long struggle and repeated imprisonment. In exchange for his sacrifice, our freedom was gained, 3 million martyrs, 2 million mothers, and sisters. Today, in independent Bangladesh, everyone can walk with their heads high. It is a great honor for the officials to work to better the commoner in an independent country.

Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working tirelessly to build a better Bangladesh and the commoner’s socio-economic development. BCS officials are at the forefront of all development activities in the country. BCS officials have the most incredible opportunity to work for the betterment of the economic condition of the country and to bring smiles to the faces of farmers, fishers, and the general public.

The Speaker said that Egyptian writer Mohsen Al Arishi had written a book on the rise of Bangladesh in the hands of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, which is very realistic. The respect and reverence of the Egyptian writer Mohsen Al-Arishi towards the struggle and self-sacrifice of the people of Bangladesh without being a Bengali is genuinely admirable. He sincerely thanked the author for writing such a deeply researched and enlightening book.

The 31st BCS Cadre Association President Abdullah Al Hadi presided over the function, and General Secretary Mrityunjay De Sajal conducted the function. Sohrab Hossain spoke. Egyptian researcher, writer, journalist, and author of the book ‘Hasina: Hakaik wa Asatir’ Mohsen Al Arishi was the keynote speaker, and Isfandiar Arion, translator of the book ‘Sheikh Hasina: The Fairy tale is not just a fairy tale’ spoke as the special Speaker. Officials of the 31st BCS Cadre Association and media personnel were present occasionally.
