Police members were instructed to protect freedom with all their might

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed the police personnel to protect the independence gained with the blood of their predecessors with all their might. He made the remarks while virtually joining the inaugural ceremony of Police Week on Sunday (January 23) morning from Ganobhaban.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said BNP is doing destructive work. Their arson, the cutting down of trees, the way they attacked the police cannot be expressed in words. There is no counting how many people have been killed. Then the police came with security at the risk of their lives.

He said that the freedom gained in exchange for the blood of the predecessors must be defended with all its might. I believe that every member of the police force will play their part in maintaining democracy and maintaining internal peace and stability through people-friendly policing.

Praising the service work of the police, the Prime Minister said that the police had delivered food to the houses of the people during Corona. When people left the bodies of relatives, the police buried them.

Highlighting the steps taken by the government for the development of the police force, he said, “After coming to the government, I see that the budget of the police is only Tk 400 crore.” We made it 600 crore rupees. I make five crore seeds from the trust fund. I did staff college for training. We introduce police risk allowance. The process of purchasing two helicopters for the police is underway.

On the occasion of Police Week, members of the Bangladesh Police performed a pleasant parade. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan inspected the train in an open jeep on the prime minister’s behalf and received salutations. He also distributed police medals among the meritorious police personnel on the prime minister’s behalf.
