On Sunday (February 26th), Qatar-based Al Jazeera media reported that Moscow had claimed that Russian forces had completely cordoned off the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson and the southeastern city of Bardiansk. News of the blockade of the two cities came as the military campaign in the Eastern European country was announced to intensify.

Russia’s military has seized a town called Nova Kakhovka on the fourth day of its offensive in Ukraine. The town, also known as New Kakhovka, is small but strategically important.
