Fazle Rabbi Mia was the advocate of the people: Taposh

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapos commented that Advocate Fazle Rabbi Mia was the people’s lawyer.

On Monday (July 25), the mayor said these things after the Namaz of late Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah, Deputy Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad, Member of Parliament for Gaibandha-5 Constituency, senior lawyer, late brave freedom fighter, at the High Court premises.

Fazle Noor Tapos said, Advocate Fazle Rabbi Mia was a pioneer in the legal field. No one would come back to him. He was a lawyer for the people. He never bargained for fees.

Referring to the difficulty of finding people-friendly lawyers and politicians like Fazle Rabbi Mia, Mayor Tapas said that no one has ever uttered a single word against him in his long walk in the legal arena. He mingled with the common people in such a way that, as a result, he was very popular in his area. Elected repeatedly, became Deputy Speaker. Today at the funeral you realize… people from all walks of life loved him with all their hearts. So, it is difficult to find such people-friendly lawyer and politician like him.

At this time, the mayor prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed his condolences to his family members.

Fazle Rabbi Mia breathed his last on Friday (July 22) at around 2:00 pm (4:00 pm New York time) while undergoing treatment in a hospital in the United States. He was under treatment in the hospital due to cancer.

Fazle Rabbi Mia was born on April 15, 1946 in Gatia village of Saghata upazila of Gaibandha district. His father’s name is Faizar Rahman and mother’s name is Hamidun Necha.
