Writ filed to halt commercial activities in residential areas including Bailey Road.

In the residential area including Bailey Road, commercial activities have been ordered to be suspended by the High Court in Dhaka City. Additionally, directives have been issued to compensate the victims on Bailey Road.

Furthermore, a committee has been directed to investigate the incidents on Bailey Road.

On Sunday (March 3), lawyer Yunus Ali Akond filed this writ in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.

He mentioned that the writ will be heard in the High Court bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Jinat Haque.

The writ has made the Ministry of Home Affairs Secretary, Secretary of Housing and Public Works, Secretary of Home Affairs, Chairman of Rajuk, Inspector General of Police, Mayors of the two cities of Dhaka, Green Cozy Cottage, and Amin Mohammad Real Estate as defendants.

Last Thursday night (February 29), news of a fire incident was reported to the Fire Service at Kacchi Bhai Restaurant on Bailey Road at 10:10 pm. Fire services were able to bring the fire under control in 50 minutes at 11:00 pm after working with 13 units. In this fire incident, 46 people, including women, men, and children, died. Journalists, lawyers, teachers, students, and people of various ages are among the deceased.
