BNP will neither come to the polls nor allow elections: Obaidul Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader thinks that BNP’s goal is that they will neither come to the elections nor let them vote. He said, “In their activities, they are implying that they will not come to the election, nor will they allow the election to be held.” They are again plotting to create terror like in 2013-14. We are also getting ominous signs. They are addicted to getting to power through conspiracies. Obaidul Quader said this in a joint meeting at the Awami League’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. This joint meeting was held with the leaders of the central, Dhaka metropolitan, and affiliated organizations of the party. Obaidul Quader said that preparations should be made to keep the elections ahead. A conspiracy has started to prevent the election. He said that BNP Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has also said that if anything bad happens in the election, Awami League will have to take responsibility. That means they are preparing to do something bad during the election. They want to go back to 2013-15 arson, and destructive activities. Addressing BNP, Obaidul Quader said, ‘We want to say clearly, don’t play with fire. You will burn yourself in the fire. We will uphold democratic progress and the continuity of the constitutionally elected government at any cost. Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said to BNP leaders, “The election train will not wait for anyone. Participate in elections without being afraid to face the people. If you want to come to the election, come, if you don’t want to come, don’t come. The overall progress of the country will not stop for you. The democratic movement will not wait for anyone. Criticizing BNP leaders for accusing Awami League of stealing votes, Awami League general secretary said that BNP is the king of vote stealing. After failing to snatch the ballot paper, it sent terrorists and attacked the High Court elections. Obaidul Quader said, “A leader of your party went to the Supreme Court to steal votes.” It has been caught. They went to steal the ballot paper to win the Supreme Court election. This morning the election was attacked. They sent 400 terrorists and attacked in a militant manner, to rig the vote. Failed to snatch the ballot paper and attacked in stages. Obaidul Quader complained, “The evil act of depoliticization of one-eleven, the plot of depoliticization has started again.” Conspiracy has started again from abroad to remove Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from politics. The days ahead are very challenging, very difficult. I urge everyone, we have no choice but to stand united. We have to be united at any cost.’
