Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said that the harmony created in the country had set a precedent in the world. The law and order forces work according to the instructions given by the Prime Minister to organize the festival of any religion. He said this in response to questions from reporters after inspecting the law and order situation at the International Buddhist Monastery in Merul Badda on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. He said, whoever is the culprit, strict legal action will be taken against them. No exemption will be given to anyone. In any religious event, we have been providing all-out support to religious brothers and sisters so that they can practice their religion properly. He also said we are with you. The IGP advised calling triple nine as well as local thana police for any assistance. Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said Bangladesh’s position in the Global Terrorist Index has become stronger. We are better than most. We are carrying out our duties per the government’s zero-tolerance policy against militancy and terrorism. Bangladesh has achieved enviable success in combating terrorism. The people of the country believe in communal harmony, due to which any information is received from the people. IGP said all intelligence agencies are working together. Due to this, we have been able to achieve success in combating terrorism and militancy. The IGP said that whenever any kind of criminal activity is taking place in the Rohingya camp, appropriate action is being taken. We have had success in every incident that happened in the Rohingya camp. Suddenly some crime rises but you see that last month it went down compared to the previous month. These things will gradually decrease. He also said that we are taking the necessary measures.
