Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address a press conference today at 4 pm on Monday. The press conference was organized at Ganabhaban to inform the media about the outcome of his recently concluded Japan, US, and UK tours. Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim informed this information.
The Prime Minister left Dhaka for Tokyo on April 25 on the first leg of his three-nation tour. Sheikh Hasina visited Japan at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. During her stay in Tokyo, Sheikh Hasina, and the Japanese Prime Minister exchanged eight MoUs signed between Dhaka and Tokyo to enhance cooperation in agriculture, metro rail, industrial development, ship-recycling, customs affairs, intellectual property, defense, ICT, and cyber security. Sheikh Hasina had a courtesy call on Emperor Naruhito of Japan and a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. On April 27, 1971, the Prime Minister handed over ‘The Friends of Liberation War Honour’ to four Japanese nationals for their contribution to the great liberation war of Bangladesh and also attended an investment summit and a community reception. He also attended several additional bilateral meetings with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi as well as leaders of JICA, JETRO, JEB IC, JBPFL, and JBCCCEC.
