People will decide who will take a safe exit: Obaidul Quader

General Secretary of the party and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader addressed the protest meeting organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League. Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader called on BNP to participate in the upcoming national elections. He said to the BNP, “If you want a safe exit, come to the polls.” The people will decide who will take the safe exit through the election. Obaidul Quader said this at a rally organized by the Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League at the Martyr Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur of the capital on Saturday afternoon. The rally was organized to protest against the ‘anti-national conspiracy, lies and propaganda of BNP’. Before this, the BNP leaders had been talking about giving free and fair elections to the ruling Awami League to get a ‘safe exit’. This time Obaidul Quader spoke for BNP. He said, ‘Your (BNP’s) pin-pin movement, the movement to which the public does not respond, there is no safe exit in that movement. Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has commented that BNP has been talking about ousting the government through agitation as a ‘nightmare’. He said to BNP, “They are saying that they will stop the election.” We are also ready. Let’s see who comes to stop. Awami League general secretary said to the leaders and workers of his party, “Get ready. Calls will be made from time to time. Obaidul Quader commented that the BNP’s “unity is sounding the bell of chaos and destruction”. He said, ‘VP Nuru has also left. Reza Kibria is also gone. They also do not like this alliance. Many others are moving away with shame inside. Regarding BNP’s demand for elections under a non-partisan government, Obaidul Quader said that not a single country in the world has said that a caretaker government should be brought. Parliament should be dissolved. This is what BNP is saying. BNP has again started its agitation program through a protest rally in Dhaka’s Nayapaltan on Saturday afternoon on the 10-point demand. On the same afternoon, Awami League held a rally in Mirpur and Jubo League in Bangabandhu Avenue. Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League organized a rally at the Martyr Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur the capital. The rally was organized to protest the ‘anti-national conspiracy, lies and propaganda of BNP’. Party leaders and workers from different wards and police stations of Dhaka Metropolitan North joined the Awami League rally in Mirpur with a piecemeal procession. Sheikh Bazlur Rahman, president of Metropolitan North Awami League, presided over the rally. He said to BNP, “If terrorism wants to create anarchy, then it will be played.” If BNP makes one foul, we will make seven fouls.
