On Tuesday afternoon, Obaidul Quader said these things at the protest rally organized by the party’s metropolitan south branch in front of the Awami League central office.
The Awami League General Secretary said that the next National Assembly elections will be fair, “The whole world is looking at the elections of Bangladesh.” I am the secretary of the government party. After two days of the city corporation election, this election will be peaceful. The government party will not interfere in the impartial election process. All city elections, including Gazipur and future national elections, will be free and fair. We request foreigners to come and see how free and fair elections are conducted under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
Obaidul Quader urged the leaders and workers of the party not to get involved in the conflict. He pointed to BNP and said, “We will not go into conflict-reciprocal conflict with anyone. We will deal with this evil force politically. This evil power should be separated from the people of Bengal. We will learn from our mistakes – this must be assured to the people.’
Quoting party president Sheikh Hasina, the Awami League general secretary, said, ‘Before leaving for Qatar, the leader said that no conflict could be done. We will not go to the conflict, but if someone comes to the conflict, we will sit quietly. If someone attacks us, then we will not attack. If attacked, Awami League knows how to respond appropriately.
In this regard, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, ‘Everyone is silent, so today the question arises, it is not his (Abu Saeed Chand) point, it is a point of opposite party. They have entered the field with the mission of killing Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina’s popularity is her only enemy today. That is why BNP has called for agitation after 14 years but not getting a response from the people. They have now decided to hang the leader at the peak of popularity. They have entered the field today with this conspiracy.
Awami League presidium member Kamrul Islam said in the rally resistance should be built against BNP-Jamaat throughout the country. They will be evicted from the field before the next election.
Mahbub ul Alam Hanif, joint general secretary of the party, said that opposite party wants to oust Sheikh Hasina’s government by creating an unstable situation in the country. Awami League will keep Bangabandhu’s daughter in power by resisting this conspiracy.
Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nashim, Metropolitan South President Abu Ahmed Mannafi, General Secretary Humayun Kabir, and others gave speeches.
