Bangladesh Police Awarded by ‘Smart Bangladesh’ Award

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Police has been awarded the “Smart Bangladesh” award in the Best Organization category for introducing innovative ideas such as providing online services to the people of the country in a simple and timely manner and providing paperless certificates by attaching digital signatures to police clearance certificates.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presented the award to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun at a presentation ceremony of the “Smart Bangladesh Award 2023” at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Wednesday (October 18).

The Bangladesh Police launched the nationwide online police clearance system “E-Service” on January 15, 2017. The system is currently running successfully in all police stations in the country.

So far, 44 lakh 1 thousand 718 Bangladeshi nationals and foreign nationals residing in Bangladesh have applied online and received online police clearance certificates in the shortest possible time.

Earlier, the online police clearance service was awarded the “World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Award 2018” held in Geneva, Switzerland under the auspices of the United Nations.
