In Bangladesh, the U.S. Ambassador, Peter Haas, inaugurated the Edward M. Kennedy (EMK) Center at its new location in Gulshan. The center’s aim is knowledge exchange and strengthening people-to-people relationships between the United States and Bangladesh, enhancing the bilateral relationship. This initiative is a joint effort by the U.S. Embassy and the Jaago Foundation.

At the inauguration ceremony held on Sunday, the Public Engagement Director of the U.S. Embassy, Sharlina Hussain-Morgan, invited young Bangladeshis to visit the EMK Center. She encouraged these young individuals to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors who have visited the EMK Center to learn, gain leadership, and acquire other qualities.

The inauguration event was coordinated by Stephen Ibel, the Public Diplomacy Counselor at the U.S. Embassy.

Former students, government officials, educators, students, civil society members, artists, and cultural groups, all part of the U.S. exchange program, attended the inauguration ceremony. The EMK Center is a testament to unwavering collaboration between the American Embassy and its local partners, ensuring commitment to excellence, and promoting intercultural communication.
