‘Hopefully, my record will be broken’ – Sachin

For a long time, Sachin Tendulkar held the record for the most centuries in One Day International (ODI) cricket. However, that record has now been equaled by Virat Kohli.

In the World Cup match against South Africa today, Virat Kohli scored his 49th century in ODIs, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli’s success has naturally excited cricket fans, and they hope that he will soon break this record.

Today’s day is special for Kohli. He was born on this day, and he celebrated his 35th birthday. Sachin Tendulkar congratulated him on social media, saying, “You’ve played brilliantly, Virat. Let’s hope that within the next few days, you will go from 49 to 50 at the beginning of the new year. I congratulate you.”

Sachin Tendulkar had touched the milestone of his 49th century after playing 451 innings, while Kohli achieved the same feat after playing 277 innings. Kohli is the first batsman to reach the milestone of 49 ODI centuries in the format, and there is no doubt about that.
