Awami League Delegation is Going on a Visit to China on Wednesday

Dhaka: The details of the upcoming 12th National Parliament election are set to be announced within the next week. Among them, a delegation from the Awami League is scheduled to travel to China next Wednesday (November 8).

The Awami League has revealed that this trip is being made in response to an invitation from the Communist Party of China.

On Monday night (November 6), Shammi Ahmed, the International Affairs Editor of the Awami League, confirmed this information.

The delegation from the Awami League, led by Muhammad Faruq Khan, a member of the party’s central committee, includes Khaled Masud Ahmed, Tarun Kanti Das, and Suman Kundu.

Shammi stated, “They will depart for China on November 8th, around 3 PM. The delegation will stay there for five days.”

“The invitation from the Communist Party of China is for participation in a South Asian conference, and the delegation is going on this journey for that purpose,” he added.

It is learned that during the trip, Awami League leaders will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of the Communist Party of China. In addition to discussing contemporary political issues, they may also have discussions on the Rohingya issue.

Previously, on May 22, a delegation of 17 members from the Awami League, led by Faruk Khan, traveled to China. They returned to the country on May 31. Then, in July, a delegation of 12 members from the 14-party alliance led by the Awami League traveled to China. Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon led that delegation.
