Metro Train Travel Time from Motijheel Increased

Dhaka: The Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has issued a new notice regarding the schedule of metro train services. The notice was published on the official Facebook page of DMTCL on Sunday, November 12. According to the notice, from Saturday to Thursday, the Uttara to Uttara North metro rail station will operate trains every 10 minutes from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

It is specifically mentioned that at 7:10 AM and 7:20 AM, two trains will depart from Uttara North station for Matijheel. Currently, all stations on the metro line will be operational, and passengers can travel on both metro trains using the MRT or Rapid Pass.

Subsequently, at 11:40 AM, 11:50 AM, 12:00 PM, and 12:12 PM, four additional metro trains will commence their journeys from Matijheel metro rail station and stop at each station, heading towards Uttara North station.

However, only MRT or Rapid Pass users will be able to board these four metro trains. Single-journey tickets for these trains can be purchased up to 30 minutes before the journey during non-peak hours (before 11:30 AM). After 11:30 AM, no single journey tickets can be purchased.

The schedule also mentions that from Uttara North metro rail station to Agargaon metro rail station, there will be a headway of 12 minutes from 8:31 AM to 4:10 PM. From 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, there will be a 10-minute headway.

In the evening, at 8:15 PM and 8:30 PM, two metro trains will start their journey from Agargaon metro rail station to each station, reaching Uttara North metro rail station.

Please note that these two metro trains will only be accessible to MRT or Rapid Pass holders. Passengers can purchase single journey tickets up to 45 minutes before the journey at 7:45 PM. After 7:45 PM, all ticket sales offices and ticket vending machines will be closed.

The notice also mentions the weekly holiday schedule.
