Discussion Meeting with 5 Thousand Beneficiaries at Chatmohar

“Pabna: Haripur Union Parishad organizes exchange meetings with 5,000 beneficiaries under the government’s social protection umbrella. On Wednesday (November 15), a consensus meeting was arranged in Haripur, Chatmohar, where Member of Parliament M. Mokbul Hossein from Pabna-3 (Chatmohar, Bhangura, Faridpur) constituency attended as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest stated that the current government, under the umbrella of social protection, provides various types of allowances for the general population. In the past, they engaged in corruption in the name of development during the previous government. Today, the country’s peace and stability are being compromised due to anti-liberation forces echoing the words of foreign masters. People are suffering, and incidents of arson, including setting fire to vehicles, are occurring. They are plotting conspiracies.

They are ready to come to power. Therefore, he urged the beneficiaries to vote for the boat symbol in the upcoming elections. If the boat wins, and Sheikh Hasina becomes the Prime Minister, all types of allowances and facilities for rice will be increased, he added.

The event was chaired by Mohammad Redwanul Halim, Executive Officer of Chatmohar Upazila.

Under the social protection umbrella, the current government has been providing allowances for various categories of ordinary, helpless, and impoverished people in villages and union levels. Among them, allowances for the elderly, maternity, disabled, widows, elderly, and freedom fighters are prominent. Nearly 4 crore 20 lakh 58 thousand taka has already been distributed among around 5,000 beneficiaries in Haripur Union of Chatmohar Upazila.

Former MP Advocate Shamsuddin Khokon, President of Upazila Awami League S. M. Nazrul Islam, Chairman of Haripur Union Awami League Mozammel Haque Roushan, District Council Member Syedul Islam, Chairman of Haripur Union Parishad M. Mokbul Hossen, District Council Member Afia Islam, and local party activists were also present at the event.

In the respective union, 56 landless families have received homes, 25 freedom fighters are receiving allowances, 408 widows are receiving allowances, 360 disabled individuals are receiving allowances, and 139 maternity cases, along with 8 members of the destitute group, are enjoying these benefits under the current government.”
