The two beaches of Cox’s Bazar have been named ‘Bangabandhu Beach’ and ‘Bir Muktijoddha Beach’.
Sugandha Beach is named after Bangabandhu Beach and Veer Muktijoddha Beach after the vacant space between Sugandha Beach and Kalatali Beach.
On Monday (February 19), a letter has been sent from the Ministry of Liberation War to the Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar to take action in this regard.
It is said that after the great architect and father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman of independent Bangladesh Bangabandhu beach at Cox’s Bazar beach and after the brave freedom fighters named Bir Muktijoddha beach between Sugandha Beach and Kalatali Beach as Bir Muktijoddha Beach of the 11th Parliament of the 13th Standing Committee of the Ministry of Liberation War. According to the decision of the meeting, instructions were requested to take further necessary action.
An official of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs told BanglaNews that the Ministry is implementing the decision of the Standing Committee in view of the request of Solaiman Mia, Chairman of the Central Command Council of Bangladesh Mukti Joddha Ishan Sangsad.
