The minutes of the 1st meeting of the newly formed committee of Bangladesh Secretariat Service Association have been held. The convener of the newly formed committee of Bangladesh Secretariat Service Association. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Abdul Khalek. Speakers at the meeting congratulated the current interim government and said that we have got back the right to speak in exchange for the blood of our children but the discrimination that they have been martyred for in the anti-discrimination movement still exists. We pray for the salvation of their souls. Their souls will find peace if they can build a developed Bangladesh by ensuring the establishment of good governance and discrimination. The speakers in the meeting also said that the demands presented by the association should be implemented by next Sunday 25 August 2024. Otherwise the program will be announced jointly for equitable claims. We have noticed that administrative demands including promotion of non-cadre deprived officers have not been implemented so far. Non-cadre officers reacted angrily to this. There is still disparity in implementation of demands among officials. The officials will continue to work together until the demands are met.
In the circular, it is stated in the demands, according to Bangladesh Secretariat (non-cadre gazetted officers and non-gazetted employees) recruitment rules-2014, assistant secretaries deprived of promotion will be given 5 years of service as senior assistant secretary and 3 years as senior assistant secretary i.e. from assistant secretary to senior assistant secretary. Provision of 100 percent promotion to the post of Deputy Secretary on completion of 8 years of service and reinstatement of promotion to the post of Joint Secretary as before. In the meeting, various levels of the secretariat officials congratulated the newly formed convening committee. As there was no further discussion in the meeting, the president thanked everyone present and announced the end of the meeting.
